Igor DA SILVA ROCHA PAZ
Former PhD student

I am 28 years old and my professional career has not been a standard one. I graduated at the Military Institute of Engineering (Instituto Militar de Engenharia, IME, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in 2011 and then I worked in the Amazon region for three years. During this period I had the opportunity to work with a 150 people staff on the construction of an important National Road, linking the largest city of the Brazilian Amazon (Manaus) to the rest of the country. And after that I was accepted at Ecole des Ponts ParisTech for a PhD on Hydrometeorology under Daniel Schertzer’s direction. My focus is on rainfall nowcasts using the multifractal theory applied to weather radar data. I am on the third and last year of the thesis and I am going to continue my career on the research domain, about what I am really passionate.
