The benefits of vegetated roofs is a debated issue that requires further research on their performance. Green infrastructures, such as the Blue Green Wave at École des Ponts ParisTech, can be used to better manage storm water as it was discussed by Pierre-Antoine Versini (HM&Co) at the ACODAL (Colombian Professional Association of Environmental Engineering) congress in Cartagena, organised in the framework of the 2017 France-Colombia year. With an outline of the state of the art of research, his presentation “Overview of the use of green roofs in storm water management, a matter of scales in a complex urban environment” aimed to rise awareness among scientists and practitioners about the complexity of revegetation of our cities, from experimentation to modelling. A rich debate followed about opportunities that could result in future collaborations between École des Ponts ParisTech and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ, Bogotá).
