Cascade phenomenology

Richardson's cascade

The concept of cascade was developed by Richardson in his book "Weather Prediction by Numerical Process" [1] . In which was set the famous poem of cascade to describe the energy transfer in turbulent flow.

\begin{eqnarray*} \text{\textit{Big whirls have little whirls that feed on their velocity}} \\ \text{\textit{and little whirls have lesser whirls and so on to viscosity}} \end{eqnarray*}
